　　不但指完整譯出講話者的話語，譯文不可缺少原話的內容，更要注意不可以隨意添加講話者原本沒有的內容。這需要譯員思維敏捷，時刻保持頭腦清醒。不過這個“完整”是指特定環境下的完整。很多時候，講話者說出一些話，但并不希望告訴對方，一般情況下講話者會明確告知譯員哪些話不需翻譯。有時譯員會聽到講話者說出一些有傷風雅或者不利雙方關系的言語，而且并沒有告知譯員是否翻譯，這個時候譯員可以稍微停頓，詢問一下講話者是否將其譯出。

　　口譯轉換活動要及時，講話者說完話之后，兩至三秒的時間，譯員必須開口。這涉及到譯員的瞬間記憶能力，事先可與中外雙方溝通一下，讓雙方盡量避免說起話來不停頓，最好一到二分鐘內。如果有必要，譯員需攜帶筆記本，做筆記以輔助翻譯。當然，隨著翻譯能力的不斷提高，可以持續翻譯的時間也應當不斷延長。
